HMD Asha 305 Launched as an Affordable "Lite Smartphone" with Removable Battery

The newly unveiled HMD Asha 305 is making its debut in the Philippines, being marketed as a budget-friendly "lite smartphone." Designed as a step above traditional feature phones, the Asha 305 offers the versatility of Android AOSP, access to over 100 curated apps, and a removable battery, packing essential features into an affordable device.

Operating on a Unisoc T137 chipset, it comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage to handle basic tasks comfortably.

The HMD Asha 305 boasts a 5-inch LCD display that offers a resolution of 480 × 854 pixels, delivering a decent viewing experience for its price range.

When it comes to photography, the smartphone is equipped with a 2MP rear camera accompanied by an LED flash, while a 2MP front-facing camera is available for selfies and video calls.

Powering the device is a removable 2,500mAh battery that HMD claims can provide up to 32 hours of standby time, thus ensuring users stay connected for longer periods without frequent recharges.

Software-wise, it operates on Pulse OS, based on AOSP Android, granting access to popular applications like Facebook Lite, Instagram Lite, WhatsApp, TikTok Lite, YouTube, and many more.

In terms of connectivity, the Asha 305 supports dual 4G SIM cards, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, and includes a 3.5mm headphone jack for versatile audio options. The retail package features the removable battery, a USB Type-C cable, and a charger.

The HMD Asha 305 is available in two attractive color variants, priced at PHP 3,990 (approximately $65). Following its launch in the Philippines, the device is expected to expand into additional markets in the near future.
