TCL has showcased its latest innovations at IFA, featuring two new tablets equipped with NxtPaper technology and an exciting smartwatch designed for children. The newly unveiled 11" TCL Tab A1 NxtPaper focuses on delivering enhanced visual experiences, while the TCL Kids Watch K5 aims to keep youngsters connected in a fun and safe manner.
TCL Tab A1 NxtPaper
The TCL Tab A1 NxtPaper features an 11-inch display that utilizes NxtPaper LCD technology, offering a stunning 2.1K resolution and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. This tablet is available separately or as a bundle with a Kids Proof case that includes protective padding, a dedicated stylus holder, and a versatile carrying handle that also serves as a kickstand.
The Tab A1’s performance is powered by the Helio G100 chipset, alongside 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. Its sleek metal unibody design ensures portability, weighing in at 426g and measuring just 6.2mm thick, all while housing a robust 8,000mAh battery.
The TCL Tab A1 NxtPaper, packaged with the Kids Proof case, is priced competitively at €270.
TCL Tab A1 Plus NxtPaper
Previously unveiled in March, the TCL Tab A1 Plus NxtPaper is available to consumers in Europe and the US, with an option that omits the NxtPaper technology.
This model boasts a larger 12.2-inch LCD, offering a resolution of 2400 x 1600 pixels, and a higher refresh rate of 120Hz. It incorporates TCL’s proprietary eye care technology, NxtPaper, designed to minimize blue light emissions and reduce glare from surrounding light sources.
Under the hood, the A1 Plus is equipped with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, along with 6GB RAM and 256GB of storage. The device is powered by a 10,000mAh battery that supports 33W charging. The pricing starts at €300, with a premium version offering 512GB for €360.
TCL Kids Watch K5
The TCL Kids Watch K5 is designed for parental peace of mind, featuring 4G connectivity to keep children connected while coming equipped with a long-lasting battery that provides up to 2.2 days of use. Not only does it track the child’s location, but it also features a School Mode to minimize distractions during class.
Customization is key with the watch, allowing kids to swap out the straps to match their personal style.
TCL has added a creative twist by designing a motorized cradle that transforms the watch into a mini robot desktop accessory, capable of turning side to side for endless entertainment.
The standalone TCL Kids Watch K5 is available for €100, offering an exciting blend of functionality and fun for younger users.
