Excitement is building around Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S27 series, which is anticipated to make waves in the smartphone market. Recent leaks have unveiled intriguing specifications, particularly focusing on the camera capabilities and unique features of the Galaxy S27, S27+, S27 Pro, and S27 Ultra models. Here’s what we know so far.
According to recent rumors, the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ are being tested with a new main camera sensor, while the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra will boast a high-resolution 50MP ultrawide camera. Today, additional details have emerged confirming the 50MP ultrawide camera is set to feature Sony’s IMX855 sensor, which measures 1/2.55 inches. The S27 Pro and S27 Ultra models are expected to share a singular zoom camera, but the Ultra version will feature two zoom cameras—a continuation of the camera configuration seen in its predecessor. Previously, there were rumors suggesting a total of three cameras, with one being a telephoto, but these have been revised.

Should these leaks hold true, the second telephoto camera would distinguish the S27 Ultra from the S27 Pro. Another anticipated difference is that the S27 Pro will not include the S Pen. Both the S27 Pro and S27 Ultra are rumored to come equipped with a 16MP autofocus selfie camera, possibly featuring Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for the Pro model.
Today's leaked information also reaffirms the integration of a brand-new 50MP main camera for the S27 and S27+, which will utilize a Sony sensor as well. The Galaxy S27 series is projected to launch in early 2027, and the four devices bear the code names NM1, NM2, NM3, and NM4. The "NM" suggests "new miracle" or "next miracle," while the numbering progresses logically—the NM1 for the S27, NM2 for the S27+, NM3 for the S27 Pro, and NM4 for the S27 Ultra.
