vivo X500 Ultra Rumor Points to 50MP Main Camera and Possible Spec Drop

Source: Date:

The vivo X500 Ultra may arrive with a main camera that looks less impressive on paper than its predecessor. Fresh details from a well-known tipster suggest that vivo’s next Ultra flagship could move away from the ultra-high-resolution sensor used by the vivo X300 Ultra, even if overall photo quality may still remain competitive.

According to Digital Chat Station, an engineering sample of the vivo X500 Ultra is testing a 50MP Sony LYT910 main sensor with a 35mm lens. The claim follows an earlier leak that mentioned a new 200MP camera module with a 1/1.2-inch sensor for the device.

The vivo X300 Ultra was linked with a 200MP main rear camera.

Although not confirmed, the rumored main sensor may refer to Sony’s 1/1.28-inch Lytia L910 LOFIC unit announced earlier this year. It supports 100dB dynamic range and 4K HDR video recording at 60fps.

If accurate, this would mark a numerical downgrade from the 200MP 1/1.12-inch main camera found on the vivo X300 Ultra. Still, megapixel count is only one part of camera performance, so real-world results could remain strong.

As with all early leaks, the final vivo X500 Ultra hardware may still change before launch.
