Samsung’s Next China-Only Foldable W27 Leaks Ahead of October 29 Launch

Source: Date:

Samsung’s luxury W series is nearing its next reveal, and a fresh leak gives us an early look at the upcoming W27. The China-exclusive foldable is rumored to arrive on October 29, and it appears to borrow the core hardware of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra while wrapping it in a more premium design.

A newly shared image reportedly shows the back of the W27 in a deep blue finish, complemented by gold detailing around the frame and camera module. A gold W-series emblem near the bottom reinforces the phone’s high-end positioning. The triple-camera arrangement and pill-shaped camera island closely match the Fold8 Ultra, supporting claims that the two devices share the same internal foundation.

Samsung’s W line has traditionally offered upgraded versions of its Fold devices for the Chinese market, sold through China Telecom. These models usually feature more luxurious materials, exclusive color options, larger memory configurations, and richer retail packaging than the standard global versions.

The previous W26 was based on the Galaxy Z Fold7 and introduced satellite calling and messaging support via China’s Tiantong network. It shipped with 16GB of RAM across both 512GB and 1TB storage options, with launch prices beginning at CNY 16,999, or about $2,390.

With the W27 expected to mirror the Fold8 Ultra, it should feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, an 8-inch inner foldable display, a 6.5-inch cover screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 200MP primary camera, and a 5,000mAh battery. If Samsung follows last year’s pattern, 16GB of RAM could be standard. Pricing remains unknown, but the rumored launch date means official details should surface very soon.
