Porsche introduced its latest electric vehicle, the Cayenne Coupé Electric, at the Auto China 2026 show in Beijing. This new model is a sportier, more dynamic iteration of the brand's popular SUV. Unlike many oversized SUVs that resemble boxes on wheels, this model takes inspiration from the iconic 911, featuring a sleek roofline that gracefully slopes toward the rear.

This design not only enhances its aesthetic appeal but also improves its aerodynamic efficiency. The Cayenne Coupé Electric boasts a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.23, compared to the standard SUV's 0.25. This slight improvement translates to increased range, allowing the new Porsche to achieve up to 416 miles on a single charge—approximately 11 miles more than its non-coupe counterpart.

The Cayenne Coupé Electric is substantial in size, measuring 196.3 inches long and 78 inches wide, and sits 0.94 inches lower than the standard SUV, with a height of 65 inches. Porsche has also equipped it with a distinctive windshield and a movable rear spoiler, combining the grandeur of an SUV with the allure of a sports car.

Power options for the Cayenne include three distinct versions. The base model, the Cayenne Coupé Electric, starts at 300 kW, equivalent to about 408 horsepower. Engaging the “Launch Control” feature allows it to reach 325 kW, enabling the car to accelerate from zero to 62 mph in just 4.8 seconds, with a maximum speed of 143 mph—plenty of power for daily driving.

For those seeking even greater performance, the Cayenne S Coupé Electric ups the ante with a standard output of 400 kW, capable of hitting 490 kW with overboost. This model accelerates to 62 mph in just 3.8 seconds, boasting a higher top speed of 155 mph.

The most powerful variant, the Cayenne Turbo Coupé Electric, delivers an impressive 630 kW of power, peaking at 850 kW (1,156 horsepower) under boost. This powerhouse can sprint to 62 mph in only 2.5 seconds and continues until it reaches a respectable 162 mph.

Charging efficiency is also a highlight, thanks to the 800V system, which allows for DC fast charging of up to 400 kW. With a sufficiently fast charger, the battery can be replenished quicker than you can finish your coffee. For home charging, it comes with an 11 kW option, with the possibility to upgrade to a 22 kW charger for an additional cost.

The interior is tech-forward, featuring screens throughout, including a dedicated display for the front passenger and a digital instrument cluster for the driver. An optional head-up display projects key information onto the windshield, and users can personalize screens with widgets, similar to smartphone functionalities.

Despite its high-tech appeal, the Cayenne Coupé Electric remains practical. The trunk space varies between 534 and 1,347 liters, depending on seat configuration, and there is an additional 90-liter storage compartment under the hood. The vehicle’s towing capacity is robust, able to pull up to 7,716 lb, and features standard air suspension for a smooth ride.

For enthusiasts looking to reduce weight, Porsche offers a “Lightweight Sport” package, which replaces the standard roof with a carbon fiber version and adds unique 22-inch wheels, cutting 38.8 lb from the car's weight. This package also includes “Pepita” cloth seats reminiscent of vintage racing styles. Whether you're after a luxurious cruiser or a high-performance electric powerhouse, the new Cayenne Coupé Electric seems to cater to every taste.
