Source: Date:

Samsung is expected to launch its first foldable smartphone featuring a wider aspect ratio this year, likely in response to the upcoming iPhone Fold set for release in September. In the meantime, Huawei has already introduced its competitor in this space, the Pura X Max.

If you are curious about how the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide (the final name may differ) compares in size to the Pura X Max, we have an image that provides a clear comparison, thanks to a recent leak from the well-known source, Ice Universe, on X.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide dimensions leak, here it is compared to the Huawei Pura X Max

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide is rumored to have measurements of 123.9 x 164.4 x 4.3 mm when unfolded and 123.9 x 82.2 x 9.8 mm when folded. Its cover display boasts a 4.7:3 aspect ratio, while the inner folding screen has a 4:3 aspect ratio, reminiscent of traditional CRT monitors and televisions.

In comparison, the Huawei Pura X Max measures 120 x 166.5 x 5.2 mm when unfolded and 120 x 85 x 11.2 mm when folded. Consequently, the Galaxy Z Fold Wide is slightly smaller in two of the three dimensions. While the aspect ratios differ, the competition between these devices is evident—even if Huawei's stronghold is primarily in China, and Samsung's market share there remains minimal.

The Galaxy Z Fold Wide is anticipated to be unveiled in July, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold8 and the Galaxy Z Flip8.
