A new set of renders for the upcoming Xperia 1 VIII has surfaced, providing the clearest view of the device to date. As reported by MyMobiles, these images showcase the finalized design, derived from the same CAD data utilized by Sony suppliers.

The renders display a familiar front design, featuring a tall, narrow display with the front-facing camera integrated into the top bezel, adjacent to the earpiece. Earlier speculation suggested a punch-hole cutout; however, the new images indicate that this design choice has been abandoned. Furthermore, the bezel width appears consistent with that of the Xperia 1 VII, while the device is expected to maintain its 6.5-inch OLED display.

According to the leaked dimensions, the Xperia 1 VIII will measure 161.9 x 74.4 x 8.58 mm, making it slightly wider and thicker than its predecessor. The new square camera island is anticipated to increase the overall thickness of the device to 11.37 mm at its thickest point, which is over 2mm more than the Xperia 1 VII.

Previous rumors suggest that Sony’s redesign aims to accommodate larger sensors than those in the Xperia 1 VII, including a new telephoto sensor in the 1/3" to 1/2" size range. Additionally, the Xperia 1 VIII is rumored to launch in May, with availability expected in June, mirroring the timeline of last year's model.
