Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide Dimensions Compared to Huawei Pura X Max

Samsung is reportedly set to launch its first foldable smartphone featuring a wider aspect ratio this year, in response to the anticipated iPhone Fold, scheduled for release in September. Meanwhile, Huawei has already introduced its competitor, the Pura X Max.

If you’re curious about how the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide (or its eventual name) stacks up against the Pura X Max in terms of dimensions, a recent leak from the well-known tipster Ice Universe on X provides a clear comparison.

The Galaxy Z Fold Wide is expected to have dimensions of 123.9 x 164.4 x 4.3 mm when unfolded, and 123.9 x 82.2 x 9.8 mm when folded. Its cover display will feature an aspect ratio of 4.7:3, while the inner folding screen will adopt a 4:3 aspect ratio (reminiscent of CRT monitors and TVs).

In contrast, the Huawei Pura X Max has dimensions of 120 x 166.5 x 5.2 mm when unfolded, and 120 x 85 x 11.2 mm when folded. This means that the Galaxy Z Fold Wide is slightly smaller in two out of three dimensions. Although the aspect ratios differ, it is evident that these devices are direct competitors, particularly with Huawei's significant presence in China and Samsung's relatively small market share there.

The Galaxy Z Fold Wide is anticipated to be unveiled in July, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8.
