Xiaomi is set to fully unveil the highly anticipated YU7 GT next month. As suggested by its name, the YU7 GT is the performance variant of the company’s inaugural SUV, the YU7, which debuted last year. Essentially, it is a slightly toned-down version of the SU7 Ultra, albeit with a new name.
In advance of the official launch, Xiaomi teased some impressive performance figures for the YU7 GT during an event in China. The vehicle will deliver a power output of 1,003 PS, translating to approximately 989 hp.
The YU7 GT is expected to achieve a top speed of 300 km/h and boasts a maximum range of 705 km according to the CLTC standard. According to Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, this model marks the first car product developed with significant input from the company’s European R&D center, aimed at delivering a “precise driving dynamic” reminiscent of German engineering.
Speculatively, the choice of the “GT” name might signal a more European appeal compared to “Ultra.” Regardless, the upcoming European launch in 2027 is highly anticipated.
