Qualcomm is on the brink of revealing its latest flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 Pro, at the highly anticipated Snapdragon Summit next month. Recent leaks from an AnTuTu 11 benchmark test have provided an exciting glimpse of what to expect from this next-generation chipset.

Internally designated as SM8975, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 Pro achieved a striking score of 4.83 million points in the benchmark test. For comparison, its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, typically scores between 4 to 4.6 million points. This suggests that the new chip offers around a 5% performance improvement based on preliminary testing, although it is important to note that this score may be from unfinished hardware and should be viewed with caution.

In addition to the Pro version, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 series is expected to include a standard variant. Both variants are rumored to be built on a cutting-edge 2nm manufacturing process, though it remains unclear whether TSMC or Samsung will handle production. Reports indicate that both the Pro and non-Pro versions will incorporate advanced Oryon CPU cores arranged in a 2+3+3 configuration. The standard chip is expected to feature an Adreno 845 GPU with 12MB of on-chip graphics memory, while the Pro version is likely to boast the more powerful Adreno 850 GPU with 18MB of graphics memory.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 Pro is poised to power upcoming flagship smartphones, including the highly anticipated Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max, which are expected to launch sometime in September.
