Smartphone cameras have become the ultimate travel companions, and few devices promise as much photographic firepower as the Honor Magic9 Pro Max. With its ARRI-tuned imaging system making waves in the mobile photography world, we couldn't resist putting this camera flagship through its paces in one of the most photogenic cities on the planet — Los Angeles, California.
Welcome back to the second installment of our Honor Magic9 Pro Max hands-on series. If you caught our unboxing coverage, you'll know we were eager to move past first impressions and dive straight into what really matters: the cameras.
While our comprehensive review is still in the works — there's plenty of rigorous testing ahead — we wanted to give you an early look at what this device can do. During a pre-launch event in Los Angeles, we had the opportunity to shoot extensively with the phone, and today we're sharing every sample we captured.
Our photographic journey took us to some of LA's most iconic destinations. We wandered through the legendary Warner Brothers studio, explored the striking Lucas Museum, soaked in the ocean views at the Santa Monica pier, visited the Reagan Museum, and took in the sweeping vistas from the Hollywood Hills.
To make things easier to digest, we've organized all the samples by focal length. For each camera, you'll find images captured in bright daylight conditions first, followed by their low-light counterparts — giving you a clear picture of how the hardware performs across different scenarios.
We're holding back our detailed verdicts and technical breakdown for the full review, but in the meantime, we'd love to hear your impressions. Do these samples live up to the hype of an ARRI-tuned flagship? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
