The highly anticipated Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 Pro chipset from Qualcomm is on the verge of being revealed. Its performance was recently highlighted in an AnTuTu 11 benchmark leak, providing a sneak peek into what users can expect from this next-generation flagship processor.
Known internally as the SM8975, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 Pro achieved an impressive score of 4.83 million points in the test. For context, the previous Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 generally scores between 4 and 4.6 million points, suggesting that the new chipset offers a modest performance increase of roughly 5% in benchmark terms. However, as with many early benchmarks, it’s wise to approach these figures with caution as they may be based on pre-production hardware.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 Pro AnTuTu 11 Benchmark Results
In addition to the Pro variant, a standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 version is also anticipated. Both chipsets are rumored to be manufactured using a cutting-edge 2nm process, though it remains to be determined whether this will be done by TSMC or Samsung. Previous speculations indicate that both the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 Pro and its non-Pro counterpart will incorporate next-generation Oryon CPU cores in a 2+3+3 configuration. The non-Pro model is reported to include an Adreno 845 GPU with 12MB of on-chip graphics memory, while the Pro variant is expected to feature an upgraded Adreno 850 GPU with 18MB of graphics memory.
Devices powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 Pro chipset, such as the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max, are set to launch as early as September, marking an exciting development in mobile technology.
