New Motorola Moto G Max Launches in India with Unique Specifications

Motorola has officially launched the Moto G Max in India, marking a significant difference from the version released in Brazil earlier this year. With distinct specifications tailored for the Indian market, the Moto G Max is set to attract attention among smartphone enthusiasts.

The Indian Moto G Max diverges notably from its Brazilian counterpart, which was actually a rebranded Moto G87. While the Brazilian version is equipped with a Dimensity 6400 SoC, the Indian model runs on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip. Additionally, the memory configurations vary: the Brazilian model offers up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, whereas the Indian edition comes with a single 6GB/128GB setup. Both versions operate on Android 16 and the Indian variant will receive two future Android updates along with three years of security upgrades.

In terms of display, the Indian Moto G Max is slightly smaller, featuring a 6.72" LCD protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. It boasts a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels, supports a 120Hz refresh rate, and has a maximum brightness of 1050 nits (HBM).

Camera specifications also differ between the two regions. The rear of the Indian Moto G Max houses a dual-camera setup, comprising a 50MP (LYTIA 600) primary lens accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide lens offering a field of view of 119.5°. In contrast, the Brazilian model flaunts a more advanced 200MP main camera alongside an 8MP ultrawide lens with a slightly narrower field of view of 118°. Both versions are equipped with a 32MP selfie camera.

Powering the Indian Moto G Max is an impressive 7000 mAh battery, which is 1800 mAh larger than the Brazilian variant. Even though it ships with a 33W power adapter, it supports 30W charging, in line with the Brazilian model.

Battery and Charging

Other highlights of the Indian Moto G Max include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, an IP64 rating, MIL-STD-810H certification, stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos capability, high-resolution audio support, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Remarkably, the display supports water touch, allowing users to operate the phone even with wet hands.

Despite lacking NFC, the Moto G Max offers FM Radio functionality and incorporates Bluetooth 5.1 instead of Bluetooth 5.4 as found in the Brazilian variant.
