In recent weeks, anticipation has been building around the Samsung Galaxy A18, with rumors circulating about its imminent launch. While official details from Samsung are still pending, the device has made an appearance on Geekbench, providing key insights into its specifications and performance.

The Geekbench listing shows that the Samsung Galaxy A18, identified by the model code SM-A185G, is equipped with MediaTek's MT6789 octa-core processor, which corresponds to the Helio G99 chipset, the same one found in the Galaxy A17 4G. A previous leak suggested that the 4G variant of the Galaxy A18 will utilize a MediaTek chip, while its 5G counterpart is expected to feature a Qualcomm processor.

The Galaxy A18 that underwent benchmarking featured 4GB of RAM and operated on Android 17, presumably with One UI 9. It achieved scores of 745 in single-core tests and 2,073 in multi-core tests on Geekbench.

Furthermore, another variant of the Galaxy A18 with model code SM-A185F has been identified, which may also house the Helio G99 SoC, as its firmware was found on Samsung's European servers. The design of the Galaxy A18 is expected to closely resemble its predecessor, featuring an Infinity-U notched display and a vertically aligned triple-camera system.

While the exact launch date for the Galaxy A18 remains unspecified, speculation points to the debut of the 4G variant followed by the 5G model in subsequent months. Samsung is reportedly gearing up for mass production of the Galaxy A18 4G version, with plans to produce 100,000 units in August, 2.4 million in September, and 2.5 million in October. These production targets are subject to change based on market dynamics. The production of the Galaxy A18 5G will commence based on Qualcomm's readiness.
