Introduction

In an unexpected move, Sony is preparing to bring back the beloved WH-1000XM4 headphones, revamped as the WH-1000XM4C. Following the successful launches of their successors, the WH-1000XM5 and WH-1000XM6, the revival of the WH-1000XM4 is generating buzz among audio enthusiasts and casual listeners alike. Set for release on September 7, these headphones promise to deliver high-quality sound at a significantly reduced price compared to their original debut.

Sony first introduced the WH-1000XM4 headphones in 2020, which were later succeeded by the WH-1000XM5 and WH-1000XM6 models, the latter of which recently added a new color variant. Now, the company is reportedly set to relaunch the WH-1000XM4 under the new designation of WH-1000XM4C, with expectations for a retail price of €249.99 or £219.99.

At this price, the WH-1000XM4C will be €100 cheaper than the original WH-1000XM4 when it launched. However, it’s noteworthy that the WH-1000XM5 can sometimes be found at discounted prices lower than the expected cost of the WH-1000XM4C.

These newly launched headphones will come in three stylish colors: Platinum Silver, Black, and Lavender. While the specifications are largely similar to the original WH-1000XM4, there is a slight reduction in battery life with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) disabled, now offering 34 hours compared to the previous 38 hours.
