The RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro offers exceptional specifications, positioning it as one of the leading Android tablets of 2026. As the successor to last year's RedMagic Astra, this new edition features the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, configurable with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 Pro storage.

Launching first in China, this device will eventually be available internationally as the RedMagic Astra 2.

The Gaming Tablet 5 Pro features a 9.06-inch OLED display with a 2.4K resolution (1,504 x 2,400 pixels) and a faster refresh rate of 185Hz, a notable upgrade from the 165Hz of the original Astra. To further reduce latency, RedMagic employs a Synaptics S3930 touch controller with a 300Hz touch sampling rate.

Additionally, the tablet incorporates RedMagic's proprietary RedCore R4 gaming chip and features an enhanced active liquid cooling system visible on the back. True to its gaming-centric design, the device also includes RGB lighting.

A standout feature is its PC emulator with Steam support, allowing users to run x86 applications and games through a custom translation layer integrated into the Game Space app. According to RedMagic, users can enjoy gaming titles at up to 2K resolution and a refresh rate of 144Hz.
