Experience Conversational Search with Gmail Live on Android and iOS
Imagine being able to have a conversation with your email app, making information retrieval faster and easier than ever before. Google is rolling out an innovative feature called Gmail Live that allows users of both Android and iOS to engage in a more interactive search experience directly within the Gmail app. Whether you have a cluttered inbox or just want quick answers, this feature is designed to streamline the way you access your emails.
What is Gmail Live?
Currently in testing, Gmail Live enables users to query their inbox using natural language. When you open the app and tap the search bar, you'll see an option to "Ask Gmail," allowing you to type or speak your queries to get tailored responses. This cutting-edge feature leverages AI to help you find the information you need instantly, making it the perfect tool for those swamped with messages.
How It Works
Once the feature is live, the search bar will pop up an icon resembling the Gemini Live design, featuring a soundwave and sparkle. Upon tapping this icon, users will access a user-friendly interface providing examples of prompts you can use, such as:
- What are my upcoming travel dates?
- What are updates on my latest orders?
Practical Applications
For instance, if you wish to inquire about your recent Amazon purchases, you can simply ask, "What are the updates on my latest orders?" The input is transcribed and processed in real-time, displaying the answer on the screen while also providing an audio response.
Availability of Gmail Live
This exciting feature is expected to be available later this summer for users subscribed to either Google AI Pro or Ultra. Google AI Pro, priced at $19.99 monthly, offers extensive features for power users. Meanwhile, Google AI Ultra offers even more, with 20TB of storage and a starting price of $99.99 per month.
