vivo has recently introduced the X Fold6 in China, unveiling a new pair of premium wireless earbuds alongside it: the vivo TWS 5 Pro. While their design may seem straightforward, these earbuds pack a host of advanced features.
The TWS 5 Pro earbuds utilize a dual-driver acoustic setup that includes a custom ultra-miniature balanced armature, co-developed with Knowles, combined with vivo's dual-ring dynamic driver. These drivers are arranged in a coaxial acoustic architecture, aligning the acoustic centers of high and low frequencies for enhanced coherence. vivo claims this design provides an impressive frequency response from 16Hz up to 60kHz.
Audio features include a custom Hi-Fi DAC developed in collaboration with Cirrus Logic, which offers a dynamic range of 113dB. The earbuds support native 96kHz/24-bit audio playback and can transmit lossless audio over Wi-Fi at rates up to 4.6Mbps. Additionally, they incorporate LE Audio technology, ISOC architecture, and the LC3 codec, which reduces latency to as low as 42ms, making them particularly suitable for gaming.
vivo TWS 5 Pro
Equipped with a four-microphone array, the TWS 5 Pro features Deep Sea Smart Noise Cancellation 2.0, capable of providing up to 60dB of noise cancellation bandwidth and 99.9% lifestyle noise suppression. The earbuds also offer adaptive noise cancellation and transparency modes, alongside dedicated profiles for use in airplanes, subways, and buses. Other modes include a sleep aid and an immersion mode. A VPU bone conduction microphone enhances voice call quality while reducing environmental and wind noise by up to 100dB and 99%, respectively.
The TWS 5 Pro supports connections with up to three devices simultaneously and includes pressure-sensitive touch controls for customizable gestures, allowing users to manage playback, calls, and noise cancellation settings easily. Additionally, they come with an IP54 ingress protection rating.
These earbuds support wireless and fast charging, with the capability of delivering two hours of playback from just a five-minute charge. They guarantee up to five hours of playback in Wi-Fi mode and up to 11 hours in AAC Bluetooth mode, totaling 50 hours with the charging case's battery.
Other key features include Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification, vivo Golden Ears Acoustics Laboratory certification, Clear Vocals sound mode developed in conjunction with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, multiple spatial audio simulations, adaptive audio with real-time adjustments, personalized sound profiles, a customizable 10-band equalizer, QQ Music Premium Sound Quality certification, and NetEase Cloud Music Professional Equipment certification. Additional innovations include smart translation, dialogue translation, AI smart broadcast notifications, wireless karaoke audio return, remote camera control, voice commands, wear detection, prolonged wear reminders, and customizable connection pop-up themes, including AI-generated artwork through Xiao V Painting.
