Xiaomi is gearing up to officially launch the highly anticipated 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max in China tomorrow. As excitement builds, the tech giant has released details on the sophisticated camera systems that these flagship devices will offer, along with impressive photo samples captured using their advanced cameras.
In a series of posts on Weibo, Xiaomi highlighted the key hardware specifications of the dual 200MP rear cameras featured in the 18 Pro series. These cameras promise to set a new standard in mobile photography.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will be equipped with a high-end Leica 200MP primary rear camera that boasts a 1/1.28 inch sensor. Accompanying this is a powerful 200MP periscope telephoto camera, utilizing a 1/1.56 inch sensor.
The telephoto lens features an f/2.4 aperture and provides 3.2x optical zoom capabilities. With a 75mm native focal length, it enables macro focusing from as close as 12cm, allowing for incredible detail in close-up shots.
According to Xiaomi, the telephoto camera in the 18 Pro captures significantly more light, boasting a 280% increase compared to the telephoto camera on the 17 Pro. Similarly, the 18 Pro Max is said to enhance light intake by 83% over its predecessor, the 17 Pro Max.
Xiaomi has also shared several stunning camera samples taken with the new main and telephoto cameras of the 18 Pro series.
The official launch event for the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will take place tomorrow, and the devices are expected to showcase significant upgrades, including a revamped rear display, enhanced hardware-level privacy features, and larger batteries compared to their predecessors.
Additionally, the upcoming flagship smartphones will likely be powered by Qualcomm’s forthcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, further elevating their performance.
