DJI Unveils Osmo Pocket 4: Enhanced 1-Inch Sensor, Larger Display, and Built-In Storage

DJI has officially launched the Osmo Pocket 4, the latest addition to its popular line of compact gimbal cameras. Enhancing the user experience, this new model comes packed with advanced features, including a larger sensor, improved touchscreen, and built-in storage solutions. Designed for creators and enthusiasts alike, the Osmo Pocket 4 promises to deliver exceptional image quality and ease of use.

The Osmo Pocket 4 boasts a cutting-edge 20 mm equivalent 1-inch CMOS sensor with an aperture of f/2.0, allowing for impressive video capabilities, including support for 4K resolution at 240 frames per second for stunning slow-motion footage. It offers an incredible dynamic range of 14 stops and features 10-bit D-Log mode for professional-grade shooting.

The camera can capture still images at a remarkable 37MP with a maximum resolution of 7,680 × 4,320 px in a 16:9 aspect ratio. With support for DNG RAW format and manual exposure settings of up to 4 seconds, photographers can explore their creativity with ease. The new device also features a 2x lossless zoom at 4K resolution and a 4x zoom option for 1080p recordings, ensuring versatile shooting options.

Equipped with 3-axis stabilization, the Osmo Pocket 4 integrates DJI’s latest ActiveTrack 7.0 technology, which allows for subject tracking even at 4× zoom. It includes innovative modes such as Spotlight Follow and Dynamic Framing, capable of tracking people, animals, vehicles, and even specific faces. Additionally, six new film tone filters have been added for enhanced visual storytelling.

The device features a revamped 2.0-inch OLED touchscreen with a resolution of 556 x 314 pixels, significantly brighter than its predecessor with a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. The display allows for seamless switching between horizontal and vertical orientations, catering to a variety of shooting styles.

New controls enhance the user experience, including a dedicated zoom button for quick adjustments between 1x and 2x modes. A custom preset button enables users to launch their preferred settings swiftly, while a 5D joystick offers variable speed control for more precise operations.

The Osmo Pocket 4 is equipped with 107GB of internal storage operating at transfer speeds of up to 800MB/s. It supports modern connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth LE 5.4.

Battery life sees an upgrade with a 1,545 mAh capacity, allowing for up to 240 minutes of recording at 1080p/24fps. The device charges quickly—up to 80% in just 18 minutes with a 65W charger, completing a full charge in 32 minutes.

The Standard Combo version of the Osmo Pocket 4 is priced at €499/£445 in Europe, while the Creator Combo, which includes additional accessories like the DJI Mic 3 Transmitter, fill light, wide-angle lens, and Osmo Mini tripod, retails for €619/£549.

Notably, the Osmo Pocket 4 will not be available in the US at launch due to an ongoing FCC ban on foreign-made drone and camera equipment.
