Motorola skipped a generation in 2025, but the Moto G Play is back in 2026 - introducing the aptly named Moto G Play (2026).
Released alongside the Moto G (2026) in November, it shares much of its specifications, including the display, chipset, and battery capacity. The primary differences lie in storage, where the G offers 128GB while the G Play has 64GB. Additionally, the charging speed is 30W on the Moto G (2026) compared to 18W on the Play (2026).
The Moto G (2026) boasts superior camera capabilities with a 50MP main camera compared to the 32MP on the G Play, along with a secondary 2MP macro lens and a high-resolution 32MP selfie camera, contrasting with the 8MP selfie on the G Play (2026).

The Moto G Play (2026) is available in a single color and finish - Pantone Tapestry. This playful blue hue is complemented by a cyan-accented user interface.
Featuring the signature Moto leather-like back panel, the device feels pleasant to touch. While it has a plastic frame that reflects cost-effectiveness, it does not compromise on quality.

As with the Moto G (2026) and Moto G Power (2026), the Moto G Play (2026) comes with a single USB cable in the box.
