Qualcomm is gearing up to launch its highly anticipated Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 Pro chipset at the upcoming annual Snapdragon Summit next month. Ahead of its official announcement, the chip has surfaced in a benchmark test conducted on AnTuTu 11, revealing some impressive performance metrics.
Known internally as SM8975, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 Pro has scored an impressive 4.83 million points in the benchmark test. For comparison, its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, typically scores between 4 to 4.6 million points. This modest 5% performance increase in AnTuTu suggests that while the new chip offers enhancements, it may not be a massive leap forward. However, it is essential to keep in mind that these scores are derived from potentially unfinished hardware, so results could vary in the final product.

In addition to the Pro variant, Qualcomm is also expected to introduce a non-Pro version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6. Both chipsets are rumored to be manufactured using a cutting-edge 2nm process, though it remains unclear whether this will be in collaboration with TSMC or Samsung. Earlier rumors indicate that both variants will utilize next-generation Oryon CPU cores arranged in a 2+3+3 configuration. The non-Pro model is expected to feature an Adreno 845 GPU equipped with 12MB of on-chip graphics memory, while the Pro version is set to include a more powerful Adreno 850 GPU paired with 18MB of graphics memory.
Devices such as the anticipated Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 Pro chipset, with launches projected for September.
