In a notable shift for Apple’s product portfolio, the iPhone X, celebrated as the company’s 10th anniversary phone, has officially been classified as an obsolete product. This update arrives nearly nine years post its initial release, alongside the inclusion of the 2018 15-inch MacBook Pro.
Once a device is designated as obsolete by Apple, it becomes ineligible for hardware service. Consequently, repair centers will no longer have access to replacement parts for these products.
Typically, products are moved to the obsolete list more than seven years after Apple ceases their sale. However, in the case of Mac devices, battery service may be available for up to ten years following their last sale, contingent on the availability of necessary parts.
The iPhone X wrapped up its software updates with iOS version 16.7.16, while the 2018 15-inch MacBook Pro concluded its software support at macOS 15.7.7. For a complete rundown of Apple’s obsolete products, you can visit their official list.
