According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, a key battery supplier for Apple recently had a pair of batteries certified, suggesting they are intended for a foldable smartphone, as such devices typically use split batteries due to their form factor.
The batteries have a rated capacity of 1,921 mAh and 2,962 mAh, totaling 4,883 mAh. This rated capacity indicates that the advertised capacity will likely be around 5,000 mAh, which is expected for the iPhone Ultra.
iPhone Ultra speculative renderNotably, this capacity aligns with rumors regarding the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, although that device has a different aspect ratio. The Galaxy Z Fold8, which is the direct competitor to the iPhone Ultra, is rumored to feature a 4,800 mAh battery.
The iPhone Ultra is anticipated to be launched in September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Despite earlier rumors of a potential delay, recent reports suggest that the launch will proceed as scheduled.
