According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, one of Apple's regular battery suppliers has recently had a pair of batteries certified. These batteries are likely intended for a foldable smartphone, as such devices typically employ split battery configurations due to their design.
The batteries in question are rated at 1,921 mAh and 2,962 mAh, totaling 4,883 mAh. This rated capacity suggests that the iPhone Ultra will likely advertise a typical capacity of around 5,000 mAh.
iPhone Ultra speculative renderInterestingly, this capacity aligns with the rumored battery capacity of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, despite differences in their aspect ratios. The Galaxy Z Fold8, which competes directly with the iPhone Ultra, is expected to feature a 4,800 mAh battery.
The iPhone Ultra is anticipated to debut in September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Recent reports indicate that, contrary to earlier rumors of a delay, the launch is expected to proceed as planned.
