Redmi Note 17 Pro: Durability Tested with Extreme Challenges in New Teaser Video

Source: Date:

Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi Note 17 series on July 14 (Tuesday). The company has shared some details about the two upcoming models, the standard and the Pro variant. Notably, the Pro model will feature Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the front and an IP69K rating for dust and water resistance.

A new teaser video showcases the Redmi Note 17 Pro's toughness. In a nod to the World Cup, several Pro models were mounted on a robotic arm acting as a goalkeeper, successfully deflecting multiple penalty shots. While this setup does not strictly adhere to football rules, the phones endured various impacts, including being struck by nuts and a durian for added effect.

The video delivers an even more impressive challenge: can the phone withstand the powerful jet from a firefighter’s hose? The demonstration reveals that the high-pressure water can shatter windows and even push vehicles. Watch the video below to see how the phone holds up, which boasts an IP66, IP68, and IP69K rating.

A group shot of the Redmi Note 17 and 17 Pro indicates that the standard model will feature a single camera on the back, rumored to be 50MP. In contrast, the Pro model is expected to have dual cameras, with one possibly featuring a 200MP sensor, although this has not been officially confirmed. Additional leaked specifications for both phones can be found here.
