Lava has recently unveiled the Bold N2 Pro, a smartphone that aims to deliver budget-friendly features while presenting some unexpected choices in specifications. This successor to the Lava Bold N2 demonstrates unique characteristics that set it apart in the affordable smartphone market, making it a perplexing yet intriguing option for buyers.
One of the key features of the Lava Bold N2 Pro is its power source: the Unisoc T7250 chipset, which is well-known for powering low-end 4G phones. This 12nm processor features a combination of Cortex-A75 and A55 cores, paired with a Mali-G57 GPU and an LTE modem. The N2 Pro comes with a sole configuration of 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which provides sufficient performance for everyday tasks.

The smartphone showcases a 6.67” LCD display sporting a 120Hz refresh rate with a 720p+ resolution. Although it operates on Android 15, the software version is already a generation behind with Android 17 on the horizon. Furthermore, Lava has pledged only one OS update and two years of security patches, leaving users with limited future-proofing.
The Bold N2 Pro is backed by a hefty 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W charging, although consumers should note that the retail packaging includes a slower 10W charger.

When comparing the N2 Pro with the original Lava Bold N2, the differences become more pronounced. The N2 has a larger 6.75” display but operates on a lower 90Hz refresh rate, both models share the same battery capacity. The N2 Pro edges ahead with its upgraded specifications, including the cameras: it has a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera, while the standard N2 features a more modest 13MP rear and 5MP front setup.

In terms of durability, the N2 Pro has an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, which lags behind the IP64 rating of the original model. The new device is available in two colors: Eclipse Grey and Aurora Gold.

As for pricing, the Lava Bold N2 Pro is currently available for pre-order on Flipkart, with the 4GB/128GB model priced at ₹8,000 (discounted from ₹10,500). Interestingly, the platform also lists the 4GB/64GB version of the standard Bold N2 (currently out of stock) for ₹9,000, leading to potential confusion over which model offers better value.
