Introduction
Motion sickness can be a debilitating condition for many, especially during travel. However, Samsung has introduced an innovative solution with its new Hearapy app, designed to alleviate symptoms of motion sickness through specially engineered sound. Paired with the Galaxy Buds4 Pro, this app draws on scientific research to offer users a temporary respite from the discomfort of motion sickness.
Samsung has unveiled a new Android application that aims to alleviate motion sickness by utilizing its Galaxy Buds4 Pro. This concept is based on a study conducted at the University of Nagoya in Japan, where researchers discovered that listening to a 100Hz sine wave at volumes between 75-85dB for several minutes could help enhance balance and temporarily relieve motion sickness symptoms.
The Hearapy app, available for download on the Play Store, is specifically designed for use with the Galaxy Buds4 Pro; however, users are encouraged to experiment with different earbuds or headphones as the effectiveness may vary.
The app generates a precise 100Hz sine wave that targets the balance system located in the inner ear, as indicated by the aforementioned research. A single minute of listening to this sound can potentially provide relief from motion sickness for up to two hours. It is recommended to set the volume to a level that is loud yet comfortable. Users can listen to the tone multiple times as needed to maintain its effect.
