Internal research at Samsung has shown that nearly 80% of users frequently utilize multiple AI agents. In response, the company is enhancing Galaxy AI to better accommodate the future of AI. By introducing multi-agent support, Samsung aims to streamline the user experience of switching between various AIs.
The updated Galaxy AI will incorporate AI agent integration at the operating system level, allowing for seamless compatibility with emerging AI technologies while maintaining the familiar Galaxy experience.
This system-level integration enables users to manage different agents without the need to toggle between apps or reiterate commands. It also provides agents with the contextual information necessary for more intuitive interactions.
The first addition to this enhanced ecosystem is Perplexity. Users can activate it by saying “Hey Plex” or by designating the side button (the power button) for this purpose. This feature will be available on upcoming flagship Galaxy devices, with the Galaxy S26 series expected to launch imminently.

Plex will be extensively integrated into Samsung’s native applications, such as Gallery, Notes, Calendar, Clock, and Reminder. It will also support selected third-party applications and is capable of executing complex multi-step workflows.
According to a press release, “additional details about supported devices and experiences will be announced soon.” It is anticipated that the upcoming One UI 8.5 update will enable some or all of these features on older Galaxy S and Galaxy Z models.
“We are committed to building an open and inclusive integrated AI ecosystem that offers users more choice, flexibility, and control to accomplish complex tasks quickly and easily. Galaxy AI serves as the orchestrator, integrating different forms of AI into a cohesive and natural experience,” stated Won-Joon Choi, President, COO, and Head of the R&D Office, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics.
P.S. Earlier this week, Samsung introduced an upgraded version of Bixby for One UI 8.5. This updated assistant can adjust system settings based on natural language requests rather than rigid commands and will provide real-time web searches for timely answers to user inquiries.
