Last month, Samsung teased an exciting enhancement for the Galaxy S26 Ultra: a new privacy screen feature aimed at providing “a new layer of privacy”. The company has now released a brief video demonstrating its functionality. This feature allows the entire screen, or specific areas, to appear black when viewed from the side, while still remaining clear and legible for the user.
The video showcases the Zero-peeking privacy toggle, which, when activated, blacks out the screen for any potential onlookers. Interestingly, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is capable of per-pixel control, enabling the device to obscure sensitive notifications without affecting other content.
Users will have the flexibility to control this feature manually or let the phone manage it automatically, adapting to certain situations, such as when the user is outdoors.
This innovative functionality has reportedly caught Apple’s interest, as Ice Universe suggests it could be incorporated into MacBooks by 2029.
While some laptops have basic versions of privacy features—for instance, HP’s Sure View and Lenovo’s PrivacyGuard—these options apply to the entire screen rather than individual sections as the Galaxy S26 Ultra offers.
