Motorola Signature Review: A New Era in Smartphone Technology

Source: Date:

Last month, Motorola unveiled the Motorola Signature, marking the debut of its new Signature series. We have received a unit for review, and after a brief video introduction, it's time to unbox and explore its features.

The Motorola Signature is available in two colors: Pantone Martini Olive and Pantone Carbon. Our review unit is the Pantone Martini Olive, which arrived in a sleek black retail package that includes essential documents, a SIM ejector tool, and a transparent protective case equipped with magnets.

Notably, our unit lacked a power adapter; however, in specific markets like India, the Motorola Signature is sold with a 90W charger instead of the magnetic protective case.

Moving on to the display, the Motorola Signature features a 6.85-inch LTPO AMOLED screen protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. This Pantone-validated display boasts a 165Hz refresh rate, a resolution of 2,780x1,264 pixels, a peak brightness of 6,200 nits, and Dolby Vision support.

The display also includes a centered punch-hole for a 50MP selfie camera, complemented by an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.

On the rear, the Motorola Signature showcases the iconic Motorola batwing logo and a squircle-shaped camera island, which houses a trio of 50MP cameras—including a primary, ultrawide, and 3x periscope telephoto—along with dual-LED flash.

The back panel of the Pantone Martini Olive model has a "twill-inspired finish," while the Carbon variant features a "linen-inspired texture."

Under the hood, the Motorola Signature is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, with options for up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Our unit includes 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Regardless of the configuration, it runs Android 16 out of the box. Motorola has promised up to seven years of Android OS upgrades and security updates for the Signature, though only time will reveal if they fulfill this commitment.

Weighing in at 186 grams and measuring 6.99mm thick, the Motorola Signature is both lightweight and slim. It features a 5,200 mAh Si/C battery that supports 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, along with the capability to charge other devices via 5W reverse wired and 10W reverse wireless charging.
