In the Galaxy S series, the Ultra model consistently outsells the standard and plus versions combined, even though it is the most expensive option. In contrast, the less expensive Z Flip has historically outperformed the costlier Z Fold in the foldable market.
According to insider information from Ice Universe, Samsung plans to change this dynamic in 2023. The company is reportedly preparing to manufacture 3.5 million units of the Galaxy Z Fold8, while the Z Flip8 is expected to see production between 2.5 and 3 million units.

This production forecast does not account for the upcoming Galaxy Wide Fold, which is anticipated to have a target of 1 million units. Additionally, there is the Galaxy Z TriFold, but this model is expected to be produced in limited quantities as a niche product.
It is important to note that these figures are based on rumored production targets, and consumer purchasing behavior will ultimately determine actual sales figures for each model.
Recently, Ice Universe also disclosed Samsung's production targets for the Galaxy S26 series, which show a stronger emphasis on the Ultra model. Notably, the S26 Ultra began mass production in December, whereas the S26 and S26+ models commenced production in January, contributing to the disparity in projected figures.

The Galaxy S26 series is set to be unveiled at the end of this month, while the new foldable devices are expected to launch around July.
