Recently, Realme unveiled the 16 Pro and 16 Pro+, which are currently available only in India. This is unfortunate, as both models boast impressive specifications. Although they are somewhat pricey, they could potentially do well in other markets.
The Realme 16 Pro+ features a remarkable 200MP main camera (1/1.56”, OIS) complemented by a 50MP 3.5x periscope (1/2.76”, f/2.8, OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP selfie camera. While not without flaws—particularly in video stabilization and ultra-wide video quality—it outperforms many mid-range alternatives that lack a dedicated telephoto lens.

In our review, this device’s 7,000mAh battery achieved one of the highest Active Use Scores in its category, reaching 18:18 hours. Although the 80W charging speed fell short of expectations, it was still reasonably fast. The downside is its starting price of ₹40,000 for the base 8/128GB variant, which is ₹10,000 higher than several competitors.

The Realme 16 Pro is the more affordable option at ₹32,000, yet it remains pricier than some rival mid-range models. While we have not yet reviewed this version, it shares the same 200MP main camera as the Pro+, known for its impressive 2x zoom capabilities, along with the same robust 7,000mAh battery and 80W charging. However, it lacks the periscope lens that distinguishes the Pro+, and it features a slightly less capable Dimensity 7300 Max chipset in place of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4.

Additional downgrades include a plastic frame instead of aluminum and different glass on the screen. Ultimately, the periscope feature and superior chipset are the compelling reasons to choose the Pro+, while the main advantage of the Pro lies in its ₹8,000 lower price.
