Once seen as a fading trend, mini smartphones are making a strong comeback, with various manufacturers releasing models at different price points. Among these, Oppo's Reno15 series has emerged as a standout, winning last week's poll. The question remains: how would it fare outside its own family?
The Oppo Reno15 Pro, referred to as the Reno15 Pro Mini in India, captured approximately 25% of the votes. However, many voters believe they can find better options among other compact smartphones. Despite this, it is noteworthy that the Reno15 Pro did not lose many potential buyers to its Reno15 counterparts.

In contrast, the Oppo Reno15 Pro Max, known as the Reno15 Pro in India, secured second place, but this designation feels more like “second to last,” earning less than 10% of the total votes. Some prospective buyers were unable to cast their votes due to regional availability issues (5.5%), though this was less than the 8.1% impacted by availability for the mini model. As of now, there has been no announcement regarding a broader launch.
The yellow section of the pie chart indicates that a significant portion of respondents favors one of the other two Reno15 models over the Max.

Surprisingly, the vanilla Oppo Reno15, which is also called the “Reno15” in India, is unlikely to be the preferred choice. Almost half of the voters indicated they could obtain better specifications for their money outside the Reno15 line. The disapproval is even stronger for the Pro Max version, where the share of voters seeking alternatives is substantial as well.
The base model cannot blame its low approval rating of 10.2% on regional availability, as both models are marketed in the same regions. Rather, it seems to stem from a general disinterest in this specific device.

Feedback within the comments section for the Oppo Reno15 trio was largely negative. In addition to concerns over naming conventions, many highlighted pricing as a critical issue. While it wasn’t the sole factor, the overall value proposition appeared inadequate, suggesting that a few months of price reductions might encourage potential buyers to reconsider these Reno15 models.
