According to a report by DealSite, Samsung is set to introduce new display technology in its upcoming Galaxy Z Fold8, scheduled for release this summer. This innovation is expected to reduce the visible crease by approximately 20%, although accurately measuring crease visibility remains uncertain.

To achieve this, the company will utilize Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) for both the top layer and the bottom component of the display. Furthermore, Samsung plans to incorporate a laser-drilled metal support plate to enhance the foldable structure, further minimizing the crease. This approach contrasts with the anticipated iPhone Fold, which reportedly will use a glass substrate while sourcing its foldable screen from Samsung.
Notably, Samsung previously showcased a crease-free foldable display at CES 2026; however, it remains unclear if the same display technology will be featured in the Z Fold8.
