Samsung's Next Foldables to Feature Titanium Backplate Design for Thinner Body

Source: Date:

Samsung is gearing up to introduce a new design element in their upcoming foldable smartphones. Reports suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Samsung's tri-fold phone will utilize titanium in their backplate design, a departure from the use of titanium in the frame of the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The incorporation of titanium is aimed at making the next generation of foldables even thinner without compromising on durability. To achieve this slim profile, Samsung may have to make certain sacrifices, such as removing the S Pen digitizer to free up internal space within the device. While this decision may not be well-received by some users, it is essential in creating a sleeker and more portable foldable phone.

Thinness has become a significant consideration for manufacturers developing foldable devices, and Samsung's decision to incorporate titanium in their next models could herald a new era of slimmer and more durable smartphones.
