Google Play Services Update: New Auto-Restart Security Feature

Source: Date:

Google recently announced a new security feature that will automatically restart your Android device if it has been locked for three consecutive days. However, the feature is not live yet and will require a future update to enable it. Users will have the option to opt-in to this feature through their device settings.

While the exact release date for the feature with a user interface is still uncertain, it is expected to be a valuable addition to Android's security measures. Similar features have been implemented by Apple in iOS 18.1, offering peace of mind to users concerned about device security.

Once activated, the auto-restart feature will kick in after 72 hours of continuous lock screen status, putting the device in a more secure state. This "Before First Unlock" state enhances data encryption and protection, offering an additional layer of security.
