At a recent event, Xiaomi captured attention not only with the launch of its flagship Xiaomi 15 Ultra but also with the unveiling of two remarkable new devices: the Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro and the Redmi Book Pro 16 (2025). These products promise advanced features that cater to both audiophiles and professionals seeking top-notch performance.
Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro
While most wireless headphones rely on Bluetooth connectivity, the Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro brings something new to the table. They utilize Bluetooth connectivity that supports up to 2.1Mbps, powered by the Snapdragon S7+ audio platform, enabling 48kHz/24-bit lossless audio quality. When paired with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, these earbuds can leverage Wi-Fi connectivity, increasing the bitrate to an impressive 4.2Mbps for 96kHz/24-bit lossless audio.
Wi-Fi connectivity • Head tracking • Pressure-sensitive stems
The integration of Wi-Fi also allows the use of Qualcomm’s XPAN technology, enabling an extended range throughout your home while maintaining low power consumption. XPAN supports high-bandwidth audio, low latency, and features like immersive audio with head tracking capabilities. However, the Wi-Fi functionality is exclusive to the Phantom Black color variant; the other colors can only utilize Bluetooth.
Equipped with dual DACs and dual amps driving two dedicated drivers, the Buds 5 Pro boast an audio frequency response spanning from 15Hz to 50kHz. Audio tuning was conducted in collaboration with Harman’s Golden Ears team, resulting in enhanced detail in mid and high frequencies.

Featuring three microphones, these earbuds offer a robust 55dB of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and can effectively mitigate high wind speeds (up to 15m/s). Compared to their predecessor, the Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro, they provide double the noise reduction capabilities.
When it comes to battery life, users can expect up to 8 hours of continuous playback via Bluetooth and up to 10 hours with Wi-Fi. Combined with the charging case, total listening duration reaches 40 hours, with support for both wired and wireless charging options.
With an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, the Buds 5 Pro also allow audio sharing, enabling two pairs of buds to connect to a single device. The touch and pressure-sensitive stems facilitate effortless volume control through sliding or squeezing actions, which can be customized as well.
Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro colors: Titanium Gold • White • Phantom Black (Wi-Fi)
Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro are currently available for purchase from Xiaomi’s store in China, priced at CNY 1,300 ($180) for the Bluetooth model and CNY 1,500 ($205) for the Wi-Fi-enabled variant.
Redmi Book Pro 16 (2025)
Following the recent updates to the standard Redmi Book 14 and 16, Xiaomi has now focused on the Pro series, introducing the 16-inch variant. This model replaces the Core 5 processor with the more powerful Intel Core Ultra 7 255H, offering remarkable AI capabilities with 96 TOPS of performance. There’s also an option for a Core Ultra 5 225H variant.
Weighing just 1.88kg and measuring 15.9mm in thickness, the laptop features a massive 99Wh battery, the largest permissible on airplanes, offering up to 30 hours of operational time. A 140W GaN adapter is provided for charging.

The vivid 16-inch display boasts a refresh rate of 165Hz, a 16:10 aspect ratio (3,072 x 1,920px), 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, and DisplayHDR 400 certification with a peak brightness of 500 nits, supporting both Dolby Vision and Atmos.

The Ultra 7 model is built on the TSMC N3B nodes, featuring 16 CPU cores (clocked up to 5.1GHz), 8 Xe graphics cores, and 24 MB cache. Xiaomi claims this variant delivers a 21.6% performance boost over the 2024 Redmi Book Pro 16. The Ultra 5 variant comprises 14 CPU cores (up to 4.9GHz), 7 Xe cores, and an 18MB cache, offering a notable 29.5% increase in performance compared to its predecessor.
Given the impressive capabilities of the Intel chip, Xiaomi has designed the laptop with dual fans and three heat pipes to effectively dissipate up to 80W.
The Redmi Book Pro 16 (2025) is available on Xiaomi’s online store in China, with the Ultra 5 model (32GB RAM, 1TB storage) priced at CNY 6,500 ($895), while the Ultra 7 variant (same RAM and storage specifications) is offered at CNY 7,500 ($1,030).
