The upcoming K90 series smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Redmi asserts that it can match, or even surpass, the performance of devices equipped with the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC when it comes to gaming.

This enhanced performance is attributed to the built-in active cooling fan, which can reportedly reduce the device's temperature by up to 10°C within just 100 seconds.

Furthermore, the K90 Ultra is certified as fully dust and waterproof. The smartphone will feature a 6.83-inch display with slim bezels, an aluminum alloy middle frame, and dual rear cameras.

The device is teased to be available in a Space Silver color option, showcasing a raised rectangular camera plateau that also accommodates the cooling fan.

According to Redmi, the K90 Ultra can maintain 60 frames per second at the highest graphics settings for 60 minutes without throttling, whereas devices powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 reportedly begin throttling after just 20 minutes.

Additionally, the phone can sustain 144 frames per second in a MOBA game for up to 180 minutes at an ambient temperature of 30°C without throttling. In contrast, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 devices are claimed to start throttling after approximately 35 minutes.

Redmi has also revealed that the K90 Ultra will be priced around CNY 3,000 (approximately $440). More details about the smartphone are expected to be disclosed ahead of its launch next week.
