Google has announced that some AI tools based on its Gemini 3 technology are now available for free in Gmail. Previously, features such as AI Overviews, Smart Replies, and Help Me Write were exclusive to users with an AI subscription (Google AI Plus or Ultra), but they are now accessible to everyone.
The AI Inbox serves to declutter your mailbox, providing a summary with key highlights. It is also capable of condensing lengthy Reply All emails, making it a valuable tool.
Help Me Write, as the name suggests, assists users by generating text based on prompts, with the ability to refine specific sections of the created messages. Suggested Replies offer an enhancement over Smart Replies, with Gemini analyzing the context of conversations and matching your writing tone in the recommended responses.
These features will begin rolling out to Gmail users in the US and for English speakers, with plans to expand to additional regions and languages in the upcoming months.
