Huawei Launches MatePad Air Z Tablets in China: Standard and Enjoy Editions Available

Today, Huawei introduced the latest addition to its tablet lineup, the MatePad Air Z, in China. This new tablet comes in two variants: the standard MatePad Air Z and the Enjoy Edition. While both models share many core specifications, there are notable differences in display, processing power, and charging capabilities that cater to diverse user needs.

Each MatePad Air Z model features a large 12-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 2800 × 1840 pixels, a 3:2 aspect ratio, and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the standard edition can be opted with a PaperMatte display for enhanced viewing experiences.

In terms of performance, both the standard and Enjoy models are powered by Huawei's Kirin T93SD chipset, while the PaperMatte version utilizes the Kirin T93S SoC. Users have the option to configure their devices with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM, along with storage options of 128GB or 256GB.

Camerawise, the tablets boast a robust 50MP rear camera, complemented by an 8MP front-facing camera. Notably, the standard edition is equipped with an LED flash, a feature that the Enjoy Edition lacks.

All versions are powered by a substantial 10,100mAh battery, with the standard edition supporting rapid 66W charging, while the Enjoy Edition is limited to 40W. Both versions run on HarmonyOS 7 and offer Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity for seamless digital experiences.

The starting price for the Huawei MatePad Air Z Enjoy Edition is set at CNY 2,999 ($447), but an introductory discount of CNY 200 brings it down to CNY 2,799 ($417). Meanwhile, the standard MatePad Air Z begins at CNY 3,699 ($551), with the PaperMatte edition priced at an additional CNY 600.
