The Pixel 10 series introduced file sharing with iPhones through Quick Share in November of last year. Now, it seems Google is set to extend this feature to the older Pixel 9 lineup.
A new report suggests that the latest Android Canary build for the Pixel 9 series contains additional system files necessary for Quick Share file transfers between Android and iPhone.

However, these files were missing from the Pixel 9a and earlier Pixel 8 builds, indicating that Google has not yet started testing the feature on those devices.
When Google announced Quick Share’s compatibility with Apple’s AirDrop, the company confirmed that support would gradually roll out to older Pixel models and other Android phones. It is encouraging to see that Google is actively working to bring this feature to a broader range of devices.
The feature may be included in the Pixel 9 series with the upcoming Android 16 QPR3 build or potentially in a future stable update.
