Introducing the brand-new Poco M8, the latest addition to the esteemed M-series. Our review unit is here, and it's time to unbox it.

Poco devices are typically well-equipped, and the M8 is no exception. The package includes a grey silicone case, a 45W power adapter, and a USB-C cable; however, the EU market may not receive the charger.

We have the Green variant, which boasts a matte dual-tone finish on the back and a textured finish on the sides. The M8 features IP66 dust and water resistance and is equipped with an IR blaster on the top side, alongside a dual SIM slot that can accommodate a microSD card for additional storage.

The M8 greets you with a curved 6.77-inch AMOLED display (FHD+ 120Hz) that mirrors the curved design of its back, enhancing its hand-feel. This dual-curved design gives an illusion of a slimmer device, despite the M8 being a lightweight 7.4mm thick and weighing 178 grams.

In terms of camera capabilities, the Poco M8 is equipped with a 50MP primary camera featuring the Light Fusion 400 sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. Additionally, the camera module includes an LED flash and a decorative sticker.

The device runs on HyperOS 2, based on Android 15. We ideally would have preferred the newer HyperOS 3 with Android 16. Powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, it features 8GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage. The M8 is also equipped with a 5,520 mAh Si/C battery that supports reverse wired charging at speeds of up to 18W.

On paper, the Poco M8 is an attractive offer with a starting price of $230/£230, making it a more affordable option compared to the Redmi Note 15 5G, which is similar but includes a 108MP main camera and an additional ultrawide camera.
