Honor Magic 8 Air: A Closer Look at the New Premium Smartphone

Source: Date:

Honor is preparing to introduce its latest thin and lightweight premium smartphone, the Magic 8 Air. Teased by the brand’s President on Weibo, the device is expected to incorporate both Pro and Air features.

While the specific details remain unclear, this could suggest enhanced flagship camera capabilities and a superior battery capacity compared to competitors like the iPhone Air and Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.

Renowned tipster UniverseIce has also released a schematic render of the Magic 8 Air, showcasing a brushed aluminum back and a camera visor design reminiscent of the Google Pixel series. As this is merely a render, the final design of the actual device may differ.

According to UniverseIce, the Magic 8 Air will measure 6.3mm in thickness, making it slightly bulkier than the iPhone Air (5.6mm) and Galaxy S25 Edge (5.8mm). Nevertheless, it is expected to be lighter than its rivals, weighing in at just 158 grams compared to the iPhone Air’s 165 grams and the S25 Edge’s 163 grams.

Li Kun, Honor's Product Manager, further illustrated this advantage by sharing an image comparing the weight of the Magic 8 Air against the iPhone Air on a scale.

Rumors suggest that the Honor Magic 8 Air will feature a 6.31-inch display, equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset and a robust 5,500mAh battery with 80W fast charging capabilities. The device is anticipated to be launched in China later this month.
