WhatsApp Unveils Events Home Hub and Shareable Invites for Non-WhatsApp Users

WhatsApp is expanding its event-planning capabilities beyond its own platform, introducing a dedicated Events Home hub alongside shareable event invites that work even for people who don't use the messaging app. The update aims to make organizing gatherings simpler while keeping user privacy at the forefront.

While WhatsApp has long allowed users to set up events within one-on-one conversations and group chats, the platform is now breaking down a major barrier: hosts can invite guests who don't have a WhatsApp account at all. "Create an event, add a cover photo, share the link, and they can see details and RSVP without downloading the app," the company explained in a blog post.

Privacy remains a priority with this rollout. WhatsApp confirmed that your phone number will stay hidden from event guests you don't know. Additionally, guests who don't use the app will only gain access to the event's address once they've submitted an RSVP.

Complementing the shareable invites is the new Events Home, a centralized hub designed for building and distributing personalized event invitations while keeping track of responses. The feature also lets hosts configure custom reminders and accommodate guests who want to bring a plus one.

Everything related to your events — past and upcoming, whether you organized them or received an invitation — can be found in a single location. Simply navigate to Settings > Events within WhatsApp to view the full list.

The new Events features have already begun rolling out, with WhatsApp promising global availability over the coming weeks.
