Samsung Galaxy Fit4 could be the first Fit band with NFC payment support

Source: Date:

Samsung's Galaxy Fit3 made its debut back in February 2024, and anticipation is now building for its successor. The Galaxy Fit4 is expected to launch sometime this year, and a steady stream of leaks has already given us glimpses of its design and features. While Samsung remains silent on an official release date, the company has quietly published the Galaxy Fit4 Manager app on the Galaxy Store — and its screenshots may have revealed a major upgrade: NFC connectivity.

One particular screenshot from the app listing, shown below, displays a "Wallet" option tucked away in the menu, partially hidden behind the bottom navigation bar. This strongly hints that Galaxy Fit4 owners could make contactless payments using credit and debit cards saved in Samsung Wallet — functionality that would depend on an NFC chip. Should this prove accurate, the Fit4 would become the first device in the Fit lineup to offer NFC.

It's worth noting, however, that the Galaxy Fit4's FCC certification only references Bluetooth and makes no mention of NFC. Until further evidence surfaces, the NFC rumor remains unconfirmed.

Beyond payments, the app's screenshots suggest the Galaxy Fit4 will come loaded with built-in apps, support for tiles, and customizable watch faces. There's also a strong possibility it will feature a speaker.

Interestingly, two of the screenshots display the Fit4's battery at a full charge with an estimated 4 days and 3 hours of remaining usage. That figure seems surprisingly low considering the Galaxy Fit3 launched with a promised 13-day battery life, so we're hoping it's merely placeholder data rather than a real-world estimate.
