Warby Parker confirms pre-order date for Samsung's Android XR smart glasses

Source: Date:

The wait for Samsung's first Android XR glasses is almost over. While Samsung and Google have stayed quiet on the exact launch details, Warby Parker — the eyewear brand behind some of the frames — has spilled the beans on when you can secure a pair.

During its third-quarter earnings report, Warby Parker Co-Founder and Co-CEO Dave Gilboa revealed that pre-orders for the company's debut Intelligent Eyewear collection will open on November 12. The full lineup, along with pricing details, will be officially unveiled on the same day. As for when the glasses will actually arrive on your doorstep, the company confirmed on its earnings call that initial shipments will begin in mid-December — lining up perfectly with an earlier report about the launch timeline.

Not ready to buy sight unseen? You're in luck. Warby Parker will offer in-store demos at 65 of its US locations starting next week, with availability expanding to its full network of over 360 stores the following week. If you're eager to try them out, you can already book a demo appointment through the company's website.

As a quick reminder, these Intelligent Eyewear glasses are powered by Android XR with Gemini integration baked in. Samsung handles the hardware, which is driven by the Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset. Rather than featuring a built-in display, the glasses rely on a camera, microphones, and speakers for interaction, and you can operate them using voice commands or the touch-sensitive panels on the temples.
