Samsung Galaxy S27 Secures BIS Certification, Signaling an Imminent India Launch

Source: Date:

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S27 continues to rack up regulatory approvals ahead of its official debut, with the device now clearing another important hurdle. The smartphone, identified by the model number SM-S952B/DS, has been certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), making it the first model in the Galaxy S27 lineup to receive approval for the Indian market.

While the BIS certification itself doesn't disclose any hardware details, previous listings have already painted a fairly clear picture of what to expect. The same model number was recently spotted in the NBD database, which pointed to a 6.3-inch display, Samsung's next-generation Exynos 2700 processor, and a memory configuration of 12GB of RAM alongside 256GB of internal storage. Separately, the phone's 3C certification in China confirmed 25W wired charging support — a detail that was later backed up by UL Solutions. Unfortunately, that means charging speeds remain unchanged from the Galaxy S26, which may disappoint fans hoping for an upgrade.

On the camera front, earlier leaks suggest the Galaxy S27 will feature a 50MP primary shooter built around a Sony sensor, marking a shift away from the Samsung ISOCELL sensor used in its predecessor. The rest of the camera setup is expected to remain familiar, with a 12MP ultrawide lens and a 10MP telephoto camera likely returning. Selfies will reportedly be handled by a 12MP front-facing camera.
