Oppo Find X10 Ultra could test Dimensity 9600 Pro before final chipset decision

Oppo is reportedly weighing an unexpected chip decision for the Find X10 Ultra. While the previous generation paired flagship camera hardware with Qualcomm silicon, a Weibo tipster says a Dimensity 9600 Pro variant is currently being tested with customized imaging algorithms, possibly to support Oppo's Lumo True Image Engine.

That does not mean MediaTek is a confirmed pick. The same tipster added that a Snapdragon-based version of the Ultra is also in testing, likely built around a next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, and that Qualcomm remains the more probable final option.

The choice could also influence how Oppo separates its top two models. If the Dimensity 9600 Pro route is taken, the Find X10 Ultra and Find X10 Pro Max may share the same core processor, with the Ultra's camera system serving as the main differentiator. Reported camera details include a 200MP main sensor with LOFIC technology, a 200MP periscope telephoto, a 50MP periscope unit with 10x optical zoom, and a 100MP square-sensor selfie camera.
